What Ulu Is

Ulu is an Alpha-stage AI fitness, nutrition, and recovery coach. During Alpha, access may be limited and the service may change as we test the app, improve reliability, and prepare for a broader launch.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you use Ulu:

• Apple Sign in with Apple and Firebase Authentication identifiers.
• Email address, if shared through Sign in with Apple or Firebase.
• Name or display name, if provided through Sign in with Apple or Firebase.
• Chat messages, coaching preferences, and app-owned coaching data you enter.
• Usage, quota, diagnostics, request IDs, and operational logs.
• Waitlist email address if you submit it on this website.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide the Ulu app and related services.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts.
• Store chat and coaching history for your account.
• Enforce Alpha quotas, cost safeguards, and abuse-prevention limits.
• Debug, secure, monitor, and improve the service.
• Contact waitlist users if they opt in to updates or early invites.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account in the app. Account deletion removes active app-owned data, chat history, coaching data, your app account identity, and the Firebase user where supported.

Limited operational logs, request records, deletion tombstones, and backups may remain briefly when needed for security, debugging, legal, reliability, or abuse-prevention reasons. These records are kept only as needed and are normally retained no longer than 30 days.

Third-Party Services

Ulu relies on third-party services to operate the Alpha, including Apple Sign in with Apple, Firebase Authentication, backend and cloud hosting providers, AI/model providers used to generate responses, and a waitlist or email provider if we use one for website signups.

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies, and only for the purposes needed to provide, secure, and operate Ulu.

Data Retention

Active account data is retained while your account exists. Deleted account active data is removed after account deletion. Operational logs and backups are retained only as needed for security, debugging, legal, reliability, or abuse-prevention reasons and are normally retained no longer than 30 days.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Ulu changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
